likes:
*her family, though they tease each other all the time
*magic, because who doesn’t?
*cats, she felt horrible when she thought she was responsible for Mrs. Norris’ petrification
*Harry Potter, she’s liked him since she first met him on his first year at the train station
*her friends, she's got some really good ones that she'd do just about anything for
*Quidditch – her favorite position is Chaser, though she played Seeker for the year Harry was banned and was admittedly not too bad, no Harry of course though
*that she can mimic others fairly well, it gets a good laugh out of most involved
dislikes:
*being afraid, which sucks because she's the only member of her family not allowed to know what's going on with the order, plus she's terrified for her family, Harry, and Hermione
*not being able to be at the Order meetings, she's afraid, sure, but she'd also like to know what's going on
*Draco Malfoy, not surprising the little snake
*getting weepy, she's rarely seen crying, though those close to her have probably witnessed it at least once
*being thought of as weak – this is something she really hates as she is definitely not weak
strengths:
*brave – she was sorted into Gryffindor and is more afraid of being left behind than what could happen to her if she fights for anything
*determined – she isn't one to give up, though sometimes that can't be really her decision, such as with the Order meetings
*Caring – to those she's close to, Ginny can be very caring, just watch out when you get on her bad side
*Impersonations - She's no metamorphagus, but she's good at imitating people
*Quidditch - she's a strong Chaser and a decent Seeker
weaknesses:
*Family/Friends – she would do anything for these people, which could lead her straight into a trap if she isn't careful.
*Temperamental – Like most of her family (probably getting it from her mum's side) Ginny can be really hot-headed, jumping down throats for small things if she thinks they're important. She's been known to hex people just to get them out of her way if she's in a rotten mood.
*The "protected" one - Ginny is the only female child of the Weasleys and is more often seen as someone who needs to be protected than someone who can be involved.
*staying quiet - Ginny tends to speak her mind and if you're doing something she doesn't like she usually let's you know
*stubborn - Most of the people in her family have a hard time letting others tell them what to do. Ginny's not an exception, which means she can sometimes argue her point until she gets on others nerves.
fears:
*being left behind or forgotten
*snakes
**losing her family/friends – she knows there's a good chance that several of them won't make it out of this second war
desires:
*to be in the Order
*do something that matters
*play professional quidditch
dementor: Her first year at Hogwarts being possessed by Tom Riddle
patronus: Ginny's patronus is a horse. Her favorite memory is finally being able to go to Hogwarts with her brothers instead of being left behind. Starting a relationship with Harry is a really close second.[/font]

describe your character in three words: brave, loyal, stubborn
personality overview:
Temperamental ;;
It's really no secret that Ginny Weasley can get a little hot-headed. She has the temper of her mother, something that most of the Weasley's inherited. It doesn't take a whole lot to tick her off. Of course, she also tends to forgive rather easily if you're close enough to her. She's in a constant love/hate relationship with most of her family who can annoy her to no end but she would also do anything for. It isn't unusual for Ginny to jinx someone who has annoyed her or has gotten in her way. On the other side, she can be incredibly caring. Her family gets on her nerves but when it comes down to it she would do anything for them.
Determined;;
Whatever she sets her mind to, she does well. She has hopes and dreams just like the rest of the student body and she will die before she sees them get crushed. Ginny might not be the best at everything, but she certainly tries her hardest. At least, she tries to do her best at the things she's interested in.
Funny;;
Ginny seems to take after Fred and George when it comes to sense of humor. After a few practical jokes had been played on her by her brothers, Ginny began fighting jokes with jokes. She learned from the best though nothing she can do would ever stand out next to the twins' work. Of course, she can get a bit touchy if the joke is played on her or if it's a particularly nasty one and she won't hold back when she gets whoever got her. But generally speaking, she can shrug a joke off with the intent on playing one later. Her pranks are especially mean to people she either doesn't like or who have done something to her. Her humor isn't just related to practical jokes, though. She can laugh along with others at a sarcastic comment or an actual joke.
Independent;;
She firmly believes that she can take care of herself. Ginny would tell anyone who asks that her family babies her too much. Actually, a lot of her arguments stem from her desire to be as independent as possible. She grew up being looked after by her brothers because she was the youngest and the only female child. Ginny sort of resents this and small things like someone holding a door open for her or poking their nose too far into her personal life turn into horrible fights. Ginny wants to be viewed as a strong woman who can do anything that anyone else can do, but she feels like she's being held back a lot of the time when she isn't allowed to do certain things (like join the Order of the Phoenix, for example).
Stubborn;;
Sometimes, you just can't get Ginny to admit that she's wrong or that there might have been a better way to do things. She's been known to throw massive fits, yelling and throwing things, when her parents want to keep her out of something or disagree with her. She very much wants to be involved in what is going on in the real world and not limited to the life of Hogwarts and she'll wiggle any information out of anyone that she can. When in an argument, she has a difficult time admitting that there might be another point of view and sometimes can't really see where the other person is coming from.
Competitive;;
Like most of her family, Ginny is at her most comfortable on a broomstick hovering over the field of the Quidditch Pitch. While she isn't one to get overly depressed about a loss, she isn't going to deny that she loves to win. She goes to the extreme of yelling at Ron sometimes after practices when she thinks he's performed particularly awful. She wouldn't be above helping him if she thought it was a matter of practice instead of confidence.
Popular;;
Though she tends to think she's not very attractive and even though she tends to play practical jokes, Ginny is rather popular. It isn't unusual to find her at the center of a group of people from a combination of all years and houses (Slytherin excluded as she has a sort of unreasonable dislike for the lot of them). She supposes that it is because she can laugh things off (generally) and that her practical jokes are rather funny when they aren't played on the person laughing, but the truth is she really doesn't understand what people see in her.

history overview:
On the 11th of August 1981, the youngest of the Weasley children was born, just before the first Wizarding War ended. Finally, Arthur and Molly had their little girl. A red-headed, pale-faced, freckled little girl. She grew up in the Burrow in Devon, England with her six older brothers. She was a fun-loving little girl right from the start and soon learned to speak up or go unheard. At an early age she started developing her sense of humor, courtesy of her older brothers Fred and George. She took after her twin brothers, laughing at their practical jokes, though she wasn’t much of a fan when they were played on her. Everyone in the family was teased, but Ginny felt like she was teased the most just because she was the youngest and a girl.
As she grew older, Ginevra began mimicking the behaviors of her family members and people they had over. She has it down to an art now and can make several people laugh. She also learned to be the teaser instead of the teased all the time. She began sort of tag-teaming on her brother Ron with the twins. Ron is the closest brother in age to her, being only one year older, so she finds it easier to tease him, though she knows how to throw a joke regarding her other brothers as well. This isn’t to say that she’s cruel, just that when she was growing up, she had to learn how to keep up with her brothers.
Quidditch was a favorite past time of the Weasley family, but Ginny was never allowed to play with the boys when she was a child. She used to sneak the brooms though and practice flying. She saw it as taking charge of herself. Because she practiced in secret, it was a huge surprise when everyone found out that she was actually a really good flyer and a pretty decent player.
Ginny always wanted to go to Hogwarts, ever since her oldest brother got his letter. She loved magic and was fascinated with what it could do. She met Harry Potter on her first trip to Kings Cross Station, though she still had a year before she was able to attend Hogwarts. She liked Harry from the first time she saw him, though she wasn’t aware of who he was at the time. When Ron told them all who the kid they had all met was, Ginny became uneasy and could think of very little else. She was sad to see her brothers go and her be left behind, even crying and running after the train before waving goodbye, but her older brothers promised to send her owls. Sometimes she got them, sometimes she didn’t. Their owl wasn’t very good. She used the time her brothers were gone to practice flying on the brooms in the shed.
The next year she was allowed to attend Hogwarts. Being pure blood and a Weasley, she knew she would get her letter. She also knew which house she would be put in before she was even on the train. Everyone was a Gryffindor in her family. Because she was the first female to attend Hogwarts since her mother, she got new robes and clothes, which she thought her brother Ron was particularly jealous of though he never said anything that she knew of. It wasn’t until she went to Hogwarts, though that she realized her family was poor. She thought every family did hand-me-downs and knitted sweaters. Despite being poor, Ginny quickly became popular, though she was now very awkward around Harry, whom she was infatuated with, often running away when he spoke to her. Still, she rocked her patched up jeans and Hogwarts uniforms.
Her first year at Hogwarts was her most terrifying. Even with all that she went through in the later years, she is still haunted by what happened when she was eleven. The Chamber of Secrets was opened and Ginny kept blacking out, not remembering what she had done in the last few hours. Conveniently, it was during the time the messages were being left on the wall. She was frightened that she was the one causing all the trouble. She confided in the diary she had found in her cauldron and conversed with a Tom Riddle. He wanted to know an awful lot about Harry, and Ginny was so scared that she ended up throwing the diary in the girl’s bathroom. Later she found out that she was sort of responsible for some of the things that had happened, but that Tom Riddle was Lord Voldemort and had possessed her body through the use of the journal. Thankfully, Harry saved her from the Chamber and she admitted to him that she had done everything.
The summer before her third year, the family along with Harry and Hermione went to the Quidditch World Cup. Ginny was glad that Hermione was going because the two had formed a sort of friendship since she had started Hogwarts. Hermione encouraged Ginny to relax around Harry, and maybe start seeing someone else. The trip was cut short when the camp was attacked. That year was also the year of the Triwizard Tournament. Ginny was so excited to be asked to the ball, even if it was by Neville. Not that she had anything against Neville Longbottom, it was just that she would have preferred if Harry had asked her. Throughout the entire tournament, Ginny was very scared for Harry. She immediately believed him at the end of the year when he said that Voldemort was back. Of course she was afraid, just the previous year the Dark Lord had possessed her body.
Her fourth year at Hogwarts was eventful. Dolores Umbridge started teaching, if you could call it that, Defense Against the Dark Arts. The woman was a horrible teacher with an even worse personality. This was also the year that Ginny started really dating. Her first real boyfriend was Michael Corner who she started seeing just before the summer and whom she had met at the Yule Ball when Neville had taken her. She broke up with Corner fairly quickly once she realized that he was a very sore looser. That year Ginny replaced Harry on the Quidditch team as Seeker during his broom ban. Harry also started the DA that year and Ginny was more than happy to sign up for it. Unfortunately, that meant she had to watch Harry's short-lived relationship with Cho, which was a bit depressing, but she did her best not to let it bother her.
During her fifth year she went out, briefly, with Dean Thomas who was in Harry's year and in their House as well. The relationship would have been great if it hadn't been horrible. Ginny didn't like to be weepy and that relationship was one that put tears in her eyes frequently. Her and Dean argued like she would have with a Slytherin. They broke up around the time that Professor Slughorn threw the Christmas party. After getting herself back together, she began dating Harry, the one person she had wanted to be with since she'd met him. She comforted him with Dumbledore died, or as much as he she could anyway.
Now she's going into her sixth year and Hogwarts isn't the same. Harry won't be there, he'll be off doing what he can to end Voldemort. She was a bit upset when he broke up with her for what he called her safety, but she doesn't mind all that much, she just hopes that he'll be safe. In his absence, she's determined to do whatever she can to help win the fight for the right side at Hogwarts.

guilty as she felt spending more time with harry than with dean, ginny couldn't bring herself to be upset that he was there. even if harry hadn't been there, ginny probably wouldn't have written to dean. that's what she kept telling herself. because there wasn't anything to write about unless he wanted to hear about phlegm. she was expecting a lot of questions when she got back go hogwarts though about what had happened over the summer. she hoped maybe that seamus had kept him busy enough that he hadn't wondered too much what ginny was up to at the burrow and she knew that eventually he'd find out that harry had spent the summer with the weasleys. but to tell the truth, there were some days during the summer when ginny just completely forgot she was even dating anyone. that's how little she wrote to her boyfriend, how little she wanted to write to her boyfriend. it wasn't that she didn't like dean, he was just a little on the dull side. maybe she could pass off her lack of letters by saying that her mum didn't want her sending any owls anywhere after what happened in the department of mysteries at the end of term last year. she wouldn't say anything about their mail being gone through. dean probably already knew that and she didn't want to make harry feel like he was an inconvenience, because really, it was just another excuse for ginny to use to make herself feel a little better. sometimes she thought that was sort of cowardly, but who said you had to constantly be in contact with the person you were seeing? she needed her space for cying out loud.
the point was that she would rather be feeling a little guilty for spending more time with harry than with dean than actually write to her boyfriend, which probably said a lot about where that relationship was going. the funny thing was that it didn't really bother her that the relationship with dean might be only temporary. ginny was only fifteen-years-old. she was more concerned with her upcoming owls than who she should be writing to and whether or not the relationship would last. and anyway, she was far more interested in harry, he just didn't seem to be interested in her. hermione had been the one to suggest that she see other people and that had been working out alright for her for the most part. at least so far. ron wasn't always too happy about it... or ever happy about it. when he found out about michael corner and her, he all of a sudden didn't like the way he looked. ginny might have found that a little insulting and judgmental if he hadn't clarified that it was something about him that ron didn't trust. and then at the end of term on the train, he had seemed really not happy about the fact that she had chosen to date dean thomas. granted, dean was his friend and probably a little awkward, but there was no need to make a big deal out of it. ginny thought it was probably just because she was the girl in the family and then there was the fact that ron was dating, well, no one. ever. it might be a little humiliating to have your little sister get a date before you. and she'd gone to the yule ball her third year with neville longbottom, though that was just as friends but still, might have been a little confusing for her brother. it didn't matter though; ginny didn't care if ron felt awkward about who she dated. it was just something that he was going to have to get used to.
ginny ran her hands through her red hair. the red hair was a common thing with the weasleys, almost a defining trait. there were other students who had red hair, sure, but it seemed to just apply to the weasleys. that and the fact that most of their clothes were hand-me-downs or second hand stuff bought discounted. ginny didn't get the hand-me-downs so much unless it was something her mother used to wear when she was ginny's age, which was just wrong on so many levels. she didn't mind the discounted clothing though and made the best of it. their lack of financial stability hadn't affected ginny's popularity at all, so she didn't see why it should bother her.
yes, being away from ron was the safest route to take if they didn't want to be near ginny's future sister-in-law, and by that she didn't mean hermione who she thought should just tell ron she liked him and let the pieces fall where they may. the comment about helping ginny with her chores was normal enough too, but what caught her a little off guard was the one about locking themselves in harry's room to avoid fleur next time. she looked at him for a second before blinking and giving a sort of half-hearted laugh. “i'll keep that in mind. wouldn't want ron to know though, he'd think i was trying to steal you.” she laughed more herself now. really she didn't think they'd have a problem being in the same room alone. they were alone right now and nothing was going on. “mum would probably just die if you were to help me with whatever she decided to assign me though.” she gave him a smile and leaned back into the couch.
“it's nice outside. i had my window open but i thought if i went outside mum might make me degnome the garden and i did that yesterday. it's not like it's productive anyway, they just keep coming back.” she didn't want to mention the barriers. it must have been difficult for harry to be sort of trapped here, even if there wasn't that much to see outside of the burrow and its yard. “that sounds like hermione though. if she's not chasing ron she's probably reading. i was thinking about asking if i could use her notes from last year to study for my owls. you think she'd let me?” hermione was ginny's friend, she didn't see why she wouldn't share notes from last year as long as ginny wasn't copying anything. but she was still a little hesitant to ask.
