likes:
-People with a sense of humour. Dylan is a fairly lively chap, someone who likes to have fun and laugh at the little things. He doesn't see the point in getting riled up over nothing at all and so he likes people who he is able to joke with. A sense of humour goes a long way with him, and you can guarantee that he'll like you more if you have one.
-Nicknames. He doesn't have any really, but he likes to give them to people. He never does it to be mean. In fact he does it to show people just how much they mean to him... It's a sign of affection, honestly. Dylan finds that he feels closer to people if they share their own private jokes, and nicknames are an example of that. He'll make up a nickname for anyone, but he always tries to make sure that they're subtle and aren't taken the wrong way. For his very close friends (and maybe his sister) he will tease them with insulting nicknames such as 'loser', but strangely it's done because he cares about them. To people he doesn't know as well, his nicknames aren't intended to tease.
-Sunset. A lot of people would laugh at him for this, but Dylan has always loved watching the sunset. He finds that it soothes him, and reminds him of his childhood. When he was younger and was sent to bed with a curfue, Dylan would always crawl out of his covers to watch the sunset. In some ways it was a way for his younger self to protest against having to go to bed so early, but he also liked to listen to the neighbours in the garden next door. They always sat out in the evenings talking over a drink, and Dylan used to enjoy listening to them. It's for this reason that he enjoys watching the sunset even now as a seventeen year old; it reminds him of those times. You could say it's also become a sort of habit of his.
-Socialising. In true Hufflepuff style, Dylan is very friendly and cheerful. He likes socialising, not only with his existing friends, but also with new people. One of the reasons he enjoys being at Hogwarts so much is the fact that he is surrounded by people of his age group. There is always someone to talk to and someone to spend time with. The one thing that Dylan can't stand is being on his own.
-Honesty. It is a trait that he highly values in other people. Sometimes he has been known to exagerrate things when speaking, but he always tries to avoid lying. Therefore he expects others to treat him in the same way.
-Dogs. Just like his sister, Dylan loves dogs. This probably stemmed from his mothers dog, and Andrea's enthusiasm for them. As a young child he looked up to his sister and followed her in her ways so when she obsessed over dogs it seemed only right that Dylan did too. Not to mention the fact that for a small toddler the dog was the perfect toy.
-Chocolate. Who ever said that it was only woman who loved chocolate? Dylan could eat chocolate for Britain. In fact he probably would given half the chance. He pretty much always gives people chocolate as gifts too, unless you mean a lot to him and then he'll give you chocolate and something else.
-Adventures. Remember the Tri-Wizard tournament two years ago? Yeah, Dylan really wanted to put his name in the Goblet but a little something to do with his age stopped him... He's not the bravest of people you'll ever meet (he wears yellow, not red) but he likes adventure... The idea of it anyway. He likes exploring and discovery new things whenever he has the opportunity too. It beats sitting still and doing nothing.
-Girls. While he is a fan of the opposite sex, he doesn’t jump on anything that moves. He does like their affection though, and he does like to tease them and flirt with them. He has made a few mistakes in the past, something which has led to him being both used by girls and to him using them, but he is trying to learn from this.
-Snow Ball Fights. Harder to have these days, but he likes them none the less.
dislikes:
-Bullies. People should get over each others differences. Dylan dislikes people, and he's not going to pretend that he gets on with everyone, but he does try to. He tries to interact with as many people as he can and he tried to understand them. He hates people that belittle others. This year he has taken a strong dislike to the Carrows and Professor Snape for their treatment of the students.
-Early Mornings. He'll get up early when he had something to do, but he doesn't see the point in getting up at some insane hour when he's got nothing planned. He wants to be in a good mood for the rest of the day, and for that he needs his sleep!
-Slackers. If you've said you're going to do something then you're going to have to do it. Ever since he was a child he has tried to work hard and dedicate himself to the things that he was passionate about, and so it irritates him when people fail to complete tasks because of laziness. When he was ten he finally completed the book that he had been working on for about two years (though looking back it was fairly horrendous), and so he believes that if a ten year old boy can complete such a long task then so too can everyone else.
-Sea Food. Ever since his father brought it for him to try at the age of nine, Dylan has steered clear of any sea food. Not only did he find the taste disgusting, but it also made him throw up. He likes to tell people that he's allergic to the stuff, but there is a good chance that he just ate some dodger shellfish all thos eyears ago.
-Pureblood Supremacists. This has nothing to do with the fact that Dylan is a half-blood, but instead stems from the morals that he was taught as a child. Everyone should be respected and treated as equals. He dislikes people judging others on their blood type. This has been fuelled this year with muggles being thrown out of Hogwarts.
-Potions. It's his least favourite subject, mainly because despite how hard he studies for it he can never quite grasp it as well as some of the others. He prefers Charms (which he is best at) or Defence Against the Dark Arts (which is more fun). He has found that the latter is less enjoyable this year, though... He doesn't want to learn Dark Arts.
-Secrets. Who needs them? He hates people keeping things from him; he just doesnt see the point in it. He'd rather people tell him bad news than keep it hidden from him.
-Hot Nights. He likes his sleep, and he can’t sleep if it’s too hot! He hates that sticky, itchy feeling that a he gets on a hot summers night. He’d much rather be curled up in bed with several blankets and a hot drink during the winter than suffer the summer heat.
strengths:
-Dedication. Dylan dedicates himself to everything that he does, always believing that people should try their hardest in the tasks that they are set. He does not care so much about the outcome of things as long as he can say that he has done himself proud. It is not about winning or loosing the game, but about how the game is played. As long as Dylan knows in his heart that he dedicated himself fully to his task then he is happy.
-Charms. It’s always been his strongest subject, the one that he finds the easiest. Though he has yet to encounter many instances outside of Hogwarts when he can use the skills that he had learnt in Charms, he is sure that they will come in handy one day.
-Loyalty. His friends and his family mean the world to him and he will stand by them through thick and thin. Once you have found a friend in Dylan you should know that you can trust him with anything.
-Cheering People Up. Always the one to crack jokes and make people smile, Dylan is the perfect person to come to if you’re feeling down. If he knows you well enough then he will know how to tease you for humorous effect without hurting their feelings, and he will honestly try to help anyone regardless of how well he knows them. He's been finding this a lot more difficult as of late, but he tries to keep smilig despite the current situation at school.
weaknesses:
-Potions. We've already established that he's not very good at them.
-Too Eager to Please. Finding that he loves to be surrounding by friends and people that he gets along with, Dylan finds it difficult to argue with anyone. Though he wants to standsup for what he believes in, he sometimes struggles to find the courage to do so . He cannot stand people disliking him and as such people sometimes walk all over him. On numerous occassions this year he has allowed the Carrows to boss him around because he couldn't stand up to them.
-Very Dependant on Others. At first it may not seem as though Dylan needs others as much as he does. He is always the one offering advice and acting confident, but he can’t imagine being alone. He likes to be surrounded by his friends and family all the time, and without their approval and their support he knows that his own confidence would drop and he’d be unable to do half the things he did now.
-Emotional. He does get upset easily, but he doesn’t always show it. He get’s attached to people fairly quickly and also trusts people a lot earlier than he should.
-Getting into Trouble. Sometimes he does stupid things because he is seeking the adrenaline... or because he is bored.
fears:
Being on his own. It’s a fear that he think everyone secretly harbours, but for someone as friendly and sociable as Dylan it’s even more prominent. He’s always been surrounded by friends and has always had his sister to lean on, so he can’t imagine life without anyone. He also thoroughly dislikes water, which stems from an experience as a child where he fell into a river and was too short to touch the ground. It took his parents a while to pull him out and by that time he had swallowed a lot of water.
desires:
-Settle down. Dylan has always been a family man, and he’d love to one day settle down and have a family of his own. His friendly nature has always served him well when it comes to small children, and he loves playing games with them. He’d like to have his own children some day.
-Work for the Order. Dylan isn’t an ambitious person, instead choosing to live each day as it comes. He rarely looks to the future of thinks about what job he would like to do as a career, but he would possibly like to follow his sister and work in the Order.
dementor: It has to be watching the Carrows curse his friends this year.
patronus: Dylan is currently unable to conjure a patronus. It is not a skill that he has ever had to learn, and since it is not part of the Hogwarts curriculum it is not one that Dylan has been taught either.

describe your character in three words: positive, chatty, emotional.
personality overview: Confident, Chatty, Friendly and Outgoing. These are all words that can be used to describe Dylan. He's the stereotypical Hufflepuff, choosing to surround himself with friends and family. He is largely driven by his own morals and beliefs, geniunely believing that if he is nice to others then they too will be accepting of him. Because of this he is not a very argumentative person. Perhaps he isn't as brave as some others, but if he really cares about something then he will do anything for to make it happen. Of course with the situation at Hogwarts recently, he is strugging to stand up for the things that he believes in. He tried it once and he as hexed by the Carrows (which, in some respects is a good thing because it's certainly better than being cursed). He has watched his friends be tortured by them on numerous occassions and he's not brave enough to meddle in and try to stop it, but being the loyal Hufflepuff that he is, he will always be there for you after the trauma. He will listen to you and tend to your wounds. It breaks his heart that he's not as brave as he should be.
He is very childish, but he is able to be serious when he wants to be. He needs to be serious this year, or else the Carrows will punish him for acting out of line. When it comes to his school work Dylan is very responsible and dedicated for he knows that it dictates his future. However, when he's not working on school work he allows himself to revert back to his childish behaviour. He is always joking and laughing, or running around and exploring like a young boy (or as much exploring as he is allowed to do these days). If anyone dares him to do something then he is the sort of person who feels obliged to accept it. Such things give him a rush of adrenaline which he thrives on. He cannot abide sitting around doing nothing. The only time that he will sit down in one place for any length of time is if his friends need to confide in him or if he is working. He will always try to help if someone needs it.

hometown: Wembley, England
current location: Out of term time Dylan can be found living with his parents in their townhouse in Wembley. Though it is technically his home, he doesn't spend all that much time here anymore, and hasn't since he started at Hogwarts. Having always been a fan of socialising and exploring, Dylan likes to venture outside of Wembley, often spending time elsewhere in Britain with his friends from Hogwarts. His sister's flat is also another favourite place of his to visit when he isn't at school, but that townhouse in Wembley will always be his home.
parents: Regina Hensley, Senior Clerk in the Animagus Registry Office
Aidan Hensley, Apothecary
siblings: Andrea Hensley, 23.
history overview: In the year 1980 Dylan Hensley came into the world, the first and only son of Regina and Aidan Hensley. His parents had met at Hogwarts, childhood sweethearts they were, and had been pretty inseperable ever since. She was a pureblood and he was a muggleborn, but it hadn't mattered to either of them. She was incredibly skilled at magic so she may as well have been a pureblood, and he was the last person to ever have been bothered by someones blood status. They had both been in Ravenclaw during their years at Hogwarts, as had Dylan's older sister, Andrea.
