He tried to force himself on her, resulting in a struggle that culminated in her punching him in the face and running away as fast as she could. She is a lot less trusting of men now.

personality overview: There are two sides to Jennyfer and she normally leaves it to you to work out which one you want to believe. If she doesn't know you very well then she'll act all sweet and innocent to try and win you over. She likes having everyone on her side, since she knows that having everyone like her will prove useful if she ever needs something from anyone. She doesn't go out of her way to argue with anyone unnecessarily so if you're particularly naive you might even think that she's a friend of yours... She's probably not, but it benefits her to have you think that she is. Often she offers a listening ear if she sees someone in distress, patting them on the back and giving them a shoulder to cry on so that they unload all of their troubles onto her. It's this way that she learns of peoples secrets, which of course she can use against people should she ever need to. She'll flirt and compliment a person endlessly until she genuinely believes that they love her. Secretly she doesn't want to be hated, and she doesn't want to hate herself, hence why she strives to get everyone's approval. She also enjoys holding some kind of power over them though, of course.

Genuine friends of Jennyfer will see another side to her. She's manipulative and a liar. She'll do anything to wrap anyone around her little finger, though she likes to believe that only her friends have caught on to this act of hers. Jenn will laugh about people behind their backs and will spread rumours about them if it suits her. That person that she allowed to cry on her shoulder is probably the one that she will laugh about with her friends. It makes her feel powerful and in control, believing that they have no clue what she's really like. If you cross her she won't outwardly confront you- she never has been good with arguments- but she will try and bring you down in her own special way. Jennyfer is good at spreading rumours and gossip, anyway that she can make someone’s life hell without making it obvious that she's the one to blame. If she manages to ruin someone’s life and get away with it then that's even better. That way everyone can carry on showering her with love and she still managed to get back at that person she hates.

When she's not scheming she's quite playful. Around people she doesn't know she is playful, but this playfullness becomes a lot stronger around her friends. She loves giving people nicknames- it makes her feel closer to them- so she'll often tease those closest to her by greeting them with 'loser' or 'squib'. She only does this to the people she's close to because they normally know that she's only teasing them and isn't intending to be mean... if she insults someone she doesn't know very well then she will pretend she's joking, but she probably is trying to be mean. She likes people who she can have a laugh with and who she can banter with. She has to be in a good mood in order to show this side to her. If someone annoys her then it's harder to switch it on.

Jennyfer has very high standards and so she cannot abide people who purposefully slack in their school work or who exhibit sloppy behaviour. She is very dedicated and always tries her hardest, though she doesn't make it known just how much her work means to her (she's not a Ravenclaw, after all). Ever since she was small she has wanted to be a healer and she is determined to do everything in her power to get there. She studies hard, particularly in Potions, and she has slowly been building up contacts with the help of her parents.

history overview: Jennyfer (an usual spelling of the name that is shared by her grandmother) was born into a pure blood family, the eldest child and only daughter of Esther and Tiberias Tanith. Both of her parents are healers, probably the reason that Jenn herself is so enthusiastic about the idea. Unlike a lot of Purebloods, Jennyfer's parents never made a habit of dictating how she should live her life. Of course she is expected to marry a fellow Pureblood, something that must have been implied at some point, and she is expected to uphold the family traditions, but her parents have never tried to ram it down her throat. They give her free reign a lot of the time, as long as she doesn't do anything reckless, and have always done since she was old enough to think for herself.

The first part of her life passed by with little of anything extraordinary happening. She was always playing in their family's house. It was fairly large, both of her parents were paid well in their jobs, and Jennyfer could amuse herself for hours running around the house and playing. From a young age Jenn was exposed to people in the Healing trade; her parents always choosing to hold dinner for their friends. She found herself fascinated by their stories and learned to talk sweetly to them, always batting her eyelashes at them so they'd be more tempted to return to the Tanith household to see the 'adorable Jennyfer'. She didn't particularly like how they used to fuss over her, but they would bring interesting plants for potions and remedies that she could look at and so Jenn put up with it.

When she was eight years old her baby brother was born. From then onwards life for Jennyfer changed. Her parents became a lot stricter, forcing her and her brother to learn manners and dinner etiquette. They still didn't touch on the greater issues such as marriage, but the immediate situation changed. When guests came over Jenn was sent up to her room while Tobias was paraded in front of her parents guests. As they grew he was the one that was being lectured on who he should marry and what he should do as a career. He was only young, but Jennyfer watched his life being mapped out for him.

Perhaps it was this that brought her closer to her little brother. She became fiercely protective of him, and was always playing games with him to make him laugh. If he was going to have his life dictated then she wanted to make sure that he enjoyed it beforehand. She constantly fears that he will go over to the dark side, and she knows that life as a Death Eater is very dangerous, and she doesn't want to lose him. On numerous occasions as a child Jenn had caught her parents talking about 'The Dark Lord'. While she is not overly bothered about this, she doesn't want to believe that they will force their only son into that career path. It could cost him his life.

When Jenn went off to Hogwarts at the age of 11 she was forced to leave her brother behind. The school changed her, though. She learned to play a game that she hadn't quite mastered beforehand. Acting all sweet and cheerful made people like her- though she always had trouble with Gryffindors- and she suddenly found that she felt loved... something she hadn't felt as much since the arrival of her baby brother. Things were quiet in her first year, though she quickly learned that her talent lay in Potions and she lacked skill in Charms.

Things kicked off right from the word go. With the arrival of Harry Potter, it wasn't long before the wizarding world was thrown into turmoil. Jennyfer didn't particularly like Potter- probably something that had come naturally given her house- and the whole Philosophers Stone situation made her feel utterly powerless. It was something so great, so big, that had captured the eyes of the whole Wizarding World... and Jenn couldn't be a part of it at all. While everyone fussed over Harry Potter, her sweet and innocent act seemed irrelevant.

Harry Potters antics became a highlight every school year from then on. For a while she stopped caring. If it didn't have anything to do with her, then why should she concern herself with it? It was only when everyone was talking about him that she got really bothered. She had tried to spread rumours and gossip about him several times, just as she did to everyone she didn't like, but her efforts had failed. The majority of the school were talking about Harry Potter, so naturally her gossip had no effect.

With the 'Golden Trio' on the run, Jennyfer is enjoying being surrounded by staff who think more highly of her, since she's a Pureblood and a Slytherin. She is weilding as much power as Snape can give her, though is trying to avoid too much mess. This is her last year at Hogwarts and she is determined not to let anything get in the way of her getting the grades she needs to become a healer.
